ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Graham Holmes Astraseal whilst carry out the manufacture of PVCu windows, doors and glass sealed units accepts responsibility for achieving good environmental practice whilst operating in a sustainable manner. As well as providing our customers with high quality products it is incumbent upon us to use our best endeavours to safeguard the environment. Astraseal are committed to continual improvement of our environmental performance as an integral function of our corporate strategy and through operating methods in every aspect of the business.
In meeting the environmental objectives we will:
Take all measures necessary to prevent pollution.
Comply with all environmental legislation and any unique requirements that apply to our operations.
Regularly review, set and measure environmental objectives and targets. With a view to continual improvement in our environmental performance.
Minimise the material waste from our production by the use of optimised computer based planning.
Recycle all waste possible.
Plan all changes in our production processes with a view to improving energy and water usage efficiency.
Plan vehicle movements, such that they are minimised and by means of planned maintenance, ensure that our vehicles emissions are minimised.
Encourage and assist where possible in the use of public transport for journeys to company premises, sites and meetings.
Co-operate with customers and agencies so that the environment becomes part of our decision making process.
Communicate our Environmental Policy to all members of the company and to undertake the appropriate training.
De-construct waste in such a way as to segregate various material components for ease of identification and recycling.
Where possible, purchase products that minimise environmental damage and assess the performance before introduction into the product range.
Investigate complaints concerning the possible breach of the environmental policy and implement solutions.
The company will conduct The Environmental Policy in a manner that will sustain the achievement of the International Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001.
